FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
MY PET HAS A SPECIAL DIET. CAN THEIR NEEDS BE ACCOMMODATED?
We are happy to accommodate any special dietary requirements however you will need to supply the food. Simply let our staff know any important details during check-in
WHAT DO IÂ NEED TO BRINGÂ FOR OVERNIGHT BOARDING?
Just your pet and their up to date vaccination booklet is required. However feel free to bring any bedding, blankets or special toys to make your pet feel at home during their stay. If your dog requires any special dietary needs or medicine these will also need to be supplied.
CAN MY DOGS STAY TOGETHER?
Here at the Timaru Pet Resort we have different sized rooms to suit all dogs from teeny tiny chihuahua to giant breeds like Newfoundland. We can also cater for family groups (2-4) dogs that you wish to be co-housed during their stay. If you would prefer your pets to sleep separately please let our staff know when making a booking
WILL MY DOG GET TO PLAY WITH OTHER DOGS?
We love to create a safe and fun environment for all dogs during their stay. Where possible we like to allow dogs to play with one another in one of our large fenced exercise yards. Our policy is to introduce dogs on leads first to make sure everyone gets along and continue to supervise their playtime. If your dog is not well socialised and/or you would prefer it to be exercised on its own please let us know at check-in
WHAT VACCINATIONS DOES MY DOG NEED?
We require all dogs to be fully vaccinated for Parvovirus and Kennel Cough. We will need to site their vaccination booklet with stickers at check-in.

If you do not have their vaccination records you can request a print out at your veterinary clinic
Please note that in cases where vaccinations have been administered for the first time or where they have previously lapsed there is a 3 week stand down period for Parvovirus (DHP) and 3 day stand down for Kennel Cough.

Puppies are required to have had all 3 Parvovirus (DHP) booster shots and their kennel cough.

If you have any questions or concerns please get in touch with us to confirm their vaccinations prior to their stay
MY DOG HAS NOT BEEN NEUTERED CAN THEY STILL STAY?
We do allow entire males and un-spayed females to stay at our facility however for their own safety we cannot accept female dogs that are on heat or expected to come into heat during their stay. In the case that a dog unexpectedly comes onto heat during their stay you will have the option to organise alternative boarding or the dog will be isolated at your expense.
